St Kilda Playgroup sessions resumed on Tuesday, 9 March, 2021. We had been closed for 51 weeks due to the pandemic, and we thank all our members for your patience - we missed you!

These documents outline how we are currently operating. Please read them all.

It is important that all SKPG members understand and abide by the new way of conducting playgroup sessions. Members must also abide by our other policies, including our Health, Wellbeing & Vaccination Policy.

Booking sessions is compulsory

All parents/carers must book a place in their desired session for themselves and any children aged 12 months and over who are attending, using the free Try Booking app that has been included on the timetable page. Booking is required for EVERY session you attend, by following the link on the timetable.

More information about returning to playgroup is included in our blog and FAQs.

We have sessions based on your eldest child’s age that run for 2 hours, 9am till 5pm Monday though Friday, see timetable for full session details.

As well as our age based sessions we also offer language sessions run by members of the local community who wish to immerse their children in their native language/culture. We currently have Russian, Italian, Hispanic, German & Japanese playgroups (please see timetable for day/time).

We have 2 playgroup rooms with a shared, enclosed outdoor space.  Each room has a range of toys, adult seating & children’s table & chairs.  Both rooms have direct access to the shared kitchenette & children’s toilet/changing area.  Our fantastic outdoor space is complete with a cubby, stage, huge sandpit, outdoor toys & 2 shade sails.  Please note we are a NUT FREE facility so please do not consume any nuts or nut based products whilst at playgroup, especially peanut butter.  Each room also has a vacuum for quick & easy clean up at the end of each session.

Our annual membership of $15 includes:

  • Use of kitchenette including tea/coffee making supplies

  • Annual Christmas party, and

  • Upkeep/maintenance of rooms, equipment & the purchase of new toys.

Membership runs for 12 months from the day of joining, and must be renewed as soon as it expires to ensure continued insurance cover.

St Kilda Playgroup is a member of Playgroup Victoria, and we encourage all families to join Playgroup Victoria via a personal membership, in addition to joining us. The benefits of each organisation are outlined here.

You can join St Kilda Playgroup online in less than 5 minutes. Membership of SKPG is compulsory to ensure public liability coverage provided through our group membership of Playgroup Victoria. SKPG membership costs $15 annually ($10 for healthcare card holders). Membership of St Kilda Playgroup is separate to the individual family membership of Playgroup Victoria, which is free.

The SKPG Committee has decided that all families who were financial members in 2019 or 2020 are automatically members for 2021, to compensate for the inability to participate in playgroup sessions while we were closed due to the pandemic. This means membership for these families will be due on 1 January, 2022.

New members are welcome to join at any time, and their membership will be for 12 months from the day they join.
