St Kilda Playgroup is a Community based not-for-profit, non-facilitated playgroup for children aged 0 to 5 years old. Created back in 2006, the SKPG is run by a committee of volunteer parents and brings together about a hundred local families.

St Kilda Playgroup members are parents and carers who meet regularly with their babies, toddlers, or preschoolers at the Bubup Nairm Family and Children's Centre, a purpose-built center, located at 99B Carlisle Street, St Kilda.

Our members create age-based sessions that run for 2 hours, 9am till 5 pm Monday through Friday.

We also offer language sessions run by members of the local community who wish to immerse their children in their native language/culture. We currently have Russian, Italian, Hispanic, German, Japanese & Indian playgroups.

SKPG is the best play environment this winter!

We have 2 nice and warm playgroup rooms that have everything you need for a comfortable and safe play this cold winter.  Wonderful range of toys, adult seating sofa, children’s table & chairs .  Both rooms have direct access to the shared kitchenette & children’s toilet/changing area.  Our fantastic outdoor space is complete with a cubby, stage, huge sandpit, outdoor toys & 2 shade sails.

Join St Kilda Playgroup online in less than 5 minutes.

Membership of SKPG is compulsory if you are visiting our sessions.

Our annual membership of $15 includes ($10 for healthcare cardholders):

  • Unlimited play sessions per week

  • Use of kitchenette including tea/coffee making supplies

  • Annual Christmas party, and

  • Upkeep/maintenance of rooms, equipment & the purchase of new toys.

Membership runs for 12 months from the day of joining and must be renewed as soon as it expires to ensure continued insurance cover.

Membership of St Kilda Playgroup is separate from the individual family membership of Playgroup Victoria, which is free. The benefits of each organization are outlined here.

The SKPG Committee has decided that all families who were members in 2019 or 2020 are automatically members for 2021, to compensate for the inability to participate in playgroup sessions while we were closed due to the pandemic. This means membership for these families will be due on 1 January, 2022.

New members are welcome to join at any time!
